Here are a passel (fun word of the day!) of FREE or low-cost ideas!
Hopefully, you’ll find something new and interesting in the potpourri collection I’ve assembled below!
First up, six art projects that caught my eye. For example, who ever thought of doing “stained glass” Halloween decorations? These ideas all have a unique twist that makes them stand out.

Next up, a bunch of cool science resources. These experiments and activities could be used for class demonstrations, science fair projects, or at home– just for fun!

Here are some great resources for character education and teaching children about good making appropriate choices. Included lesson plans, videos, and a great list of kid-friendly, random acts of kindness.

These are the last, few ideas that recently caught my attention. If you’re an ELA teacher, make sure you check out the final entry of this post!

Scrambled Paragraph Writing Activity (FREE)
Ready-to-use printables! Just copy and go!
This NO PREP activity packet contains an 8-sentence scrambled paragraph that can be put together only one way. Students use transitions and inferential clues to assemble this organized, logical paragraph.
The easy-to-use paragraph structure includes:
— a title,
— a topic sentence,
— three details with support- six (6) sentences, and
— a closing sentence or clincher.
Students cut out the nine parts of the paragraph, identify the three sentence pairs, and then correctly reassemble the scrambled paragraph on an answer sheet template.
Like training wheels on a bicycle, working with scrambled paragraphs helps students understand how to write their own ideas in a clear, organized manner. Students quickly learn it’s much easier to “build” an organized paragraph than it is to revise a disorganized paragraph.
